- What is my typical process for working with a client?
-
I listen and then ask questions...and then ask more questions.
I always make sure I am on the same page as the event coordinator. Hopefully I will answer some of them before you even think of them because I have years of experience covering large events, shooting dynamic portraits and documenting intimate, quiet moments. - What education and/or training do I have?
-
Ten years as a news photographer, followed by a masters degree in news graphics and photography, followed by four years with the Associated Press and then as the corporate photographer for the Nasdaq Stock Market. In 2012 I was the photo editor and photographer for The Martha Stewart Show during it's last two years of production. I've been running my own freelance photography business since 2005.
- What advice would I give a customer looking to hire a photographer?
-
All photographers are not alike. Please search the web and look at the styles that various photographers offer. Also, definitely ask your friends who they have used; referrals are the best way to get a reputable photographer. And with photography, you usually get what you pay for. If you value your memories, you may need to spend a little more to get a truly skilled photographer that values your business.
